Penyagolosa (Spanish: Peñagolosa) is a mountain in the Alcalatén comarque, Valencian Community, Spain. Geologically it is part of the Iberian System, located at the eastern end of Iberian Peninsula. Its peak is at 1,813 meters above sea level and is often crowned with snow in the winter.<br />

The Penyagolosa is widely considered to be most emblematic mountain in the Valencian Community. Since it stands quite isolated, it was thought to be the highest peak in the region, but actually the highest is the 1,839 meter high Cerro Calderón, located in the Rincón de Ademuz, a Valencian exclave where there are three more peaks over 1,500 m.<br />
<br />
At the base of the mountain is the important pilgrimage destination of Sant Joan de Penyagolosa.

Ontinyent is a municipality in the comarca of Vall d'Albaida in the Valencian Community, Spain. It is situated on the right bank of the Clariano or Ontinyent, a tributary of the Xúquer, and on the Xàtiva–Alcoi railway.<br />
<br />
Ontinyent has a parish church remarkable for its lofty square tower, and a palace of the dukes of Almodòver. There is a large modern suburb outside the old town, which was formerly a walled city; some vestiges of the ramparts still remain. Linen and woollen cloth, paper, brandy, furniture and earthenware are manufactured; and there is some trade in cereals, wine, almonds and olive oil.<br />
Vall d'Albaida (Valencian pronunciation), Spanish: Valle de Albaida,  is a comarca in the province of Valencia, Valencian Community, Spain, of some 722 square kilometers and some 90,000 inhabitants around the year 2008 at aprox 70 km of the city of Valencia . Reconquered by the Aragonese king James I of Aragon in the first middle of the 13th Century to the Spanish Moors it was heavily populated by Muslim descendants, till they were confronted in the 17th Century (1610) with either leaving the country or becoming compulsorily baptized and practicing fully as new Christians.<br />
Some important villages are Ontinyent, Bocairent, Albaida and Fontaneras del Alforins.

  • The Natural Park of Serra d'Irta (Valencian: Parc Natural de la Serra d'Irta, Spanish: Parque Natural de la Sierra de Irta) is a natural park with 7,744 hectares of land, as well as a marine nature reserve. These mountain and shoreline areas were declared a protected area by the Valencian government on July 16, 2002.<br />
<br />
The park protects the environment of large zones of the Serra d'Irta mountain range and of the adjacent Mediterranean Sea coastal area in the Costa del Azahar. Besides the reefs of the marine reserve extending into the sea, the natural park includes a moderately high coastal mountain range with a maximum altitude of 543 metres (Campanella). The range runs parallel to the coast and forks in the south in an area separated by the Estopet valley. On the coastal side the mountains descend abruptly along 12 km with numerous cliffs, coves and cornices. Large swathes of urbanized and touristic areas of the coastal side of Serra d'Irta located at the northern end near Peníscola, as well as at the southern end, near Alcossebre, are not included in the Park.

The Gallocanta Lake (Spanish: Laguna de Gallocanta) is an endorheic lake located just to the south of Gallocanta village, between the Aragonese comarcas of Campo de Daroca and Comarca del Jiloca, Aragon, Spain. This lake is situated on a high continental plain at an altitude of almost 1,000 m.<br />
<br />
It lies in a 53,600 ha natural basin known as El Campo de Bello, encircled by the Iberian System mountain ranges of Sierra de Santa Cruz and Sierra de Pardos in the north, Sierra Menera in the south and Sierra del Caldereros in the east. It is an intermittent rain-fed lake, largely dependent on abundant autumnal and spring rains if it is to maintain a sizeable amount of water into the hot summer months.

Penyagolosa (Spanish: Peñagolosa) is a mountain in the Alcalatén comarque, Valencian Community, Spain. Geologically it is part of the Iberian System, located at the eastern end of Iberian Peninsula. Its peak is at 1,813 meters above sea level and is often crowned with snow in the winter.<br />
<br />
The Penyagolosa is widely considered to be most emblematic mountain in the Valencian Community. Since it stands quite isolated, it was thought to be the highest peak in the region, but actually the highest is the 1,839 meter high Cerro Calderón, located in the Rincón de Ademuz, a Valencian exclave where there are three more peaks over 1,500 m.<br />

At the base of the mountain is the important pilgrimage destination of Sant Joan de Penyagolosa.

Reconquered by the Aragonese king James I of Aragon in the first middle of the 13th Century to the Spanish Moors it was heavily populated by Muslim descendants, till they were confronted in the 17th Century (1610) with either leaving the country or becoming compulsorily baptized and practicing fully as new Christians.<br />
Some important villages are Ontinyent, Bocairent, Albaida and Fontaneras del Alforins.
